We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven Senior Accountant to join our team! In this role, you'll be responsible for a broad range of general accounting functions, including general ledger (GL), month-end close, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), treasury, and NetSuite integration. As a strong generalist, you will dive into our existing processes, ensuring you thoroughly understand our workflows before implementing improvements. General Accounting and Month-End Close:
Manage various GL functions and the month-end close process with attention to detail and timeliness. Review and prepare daily and monthly journal entries along with the review/preparation of month end close reconciliations. Ensure accuracy in key areas such as payroll, fixed asset management, debt, prepaids, insurance accruals, intangibles, and accrued expenses. Manage credit card and employee expense coding weekly for accuracy and completeness. Lead closing activities, with oversight from manager, including variance analytics to finalize monthly reporting. Prepare tax schedules and assist with tax filings, including sales tax and property tax. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and provide insights into financial performance. Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury:
Oversee daily cash review, AP, and AR, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Drive enhancements in invoicing, collections, and payment processes to improve overall financial health. Support AP/AR and treasury functions, partnering with internal teams to streamline payment processes and optimize cash flow management. Process Improvement & System Integration:
Leverage your understanding of our workflows to identify and implement improvements across accounting processes. Use technology and accounting systems (such as NetSuite) to increase automation, enhance data accuracy, and optimize reporting. Support NetSuite integration and continually seek ways to enhance its use within the team. Compliance, Audit, and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards, supporting internal controls and audit readiness. Work closely with auditors, addressing findings, and maintaining adherence to best practices. Prepare and present financial reports for stakeholders, ensuring clarity and accuracy. Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A):
Assist in gathering and analyzing financial data during the due diligence phase of mergers or acquisitions as needed. Assist in transition from legacy accounting system(s) into NetSuite by taking on transactional level functions and month-end close responsibilities relative to the acquired company. Requirements
Experience:
Minimum of 4+ years in accounting or finance, with experience in GL, AP, AR, and treasury. Exposure to high-growth or high volume industries is beneficial. Technical Expertise:
Strong understanding of GAAP; CPA, CMA, or similar certification preferred. Financial Systems Knowledge:
Proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP systems, with a focus on leveraging technology for efficiency. Analytical Skills:
Ability to analyze financial data, develop insights, and build financial models that aid in decision-making. Attention to Detail:
High level of accuracy and experience in reviewing financial statements for compliance. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Skilled in working with various departments to align on accounting practices. Compliance & Internal Controls:
