The accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other financial-related activities. Maintain knowledge of and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles to record and report financial information accurately. The position requires an inquisitive nature, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

This is an on-site position .

Other responsibilities include: Prepare data for Medicare/Medicaid and Blue Cross cost reports. Accumulate data on a monthly basis in preparation for annual reports. Review all reimbursement and technical changes for Medicare/Medicaid and Blue Cross and apprise supervisor of financial and procedural impacts. Compile and analyze financial information in preparation for account entries including general ledger accounts and business transaction documentation Prepare and post monthly journal entries accounting for various transactions. Must ensure activity is posted accurately and balances, following up on any outstanding items. Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts Responsible for the accounting process specific to employee education loans and tuition assistance. Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and assists in preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports. Cross-train with the Accounts Payable department and payroll processing/benefits to understand processes and assist as needed. Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures Close clinic charges on a daily basis. Close clinics on a monthly basis and post journal entries Assists in providing financial information to external auditors and gathers necessary account information and documents to perform an annual audit. Compile and print statistics. Assists with data compilation in preparation for completing annual tax return(s). Prepare sales tax forms. Act as alternate payroll processor, backing up the Payroll and Benefits Specialist Other duties as assigned Benefits

Qualifications

Associate degree in accounting accepted, Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred. May consider years of relevant experience for the right candidate. Accounting experience is required, healthcare experience is preferred.
