Position Summary
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the accounting department with daily operations, including financial reporting, general ledger management, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
Record and classify transactions in the general ledger, focusing on assets, liabilities, and expenses. Support inventory posting and reconciliation efforts during month-end and year-end processes. Execute month-end and year-end closures, ensuring all entries are accurate and completed on time. Collaborate with other departments to synchronize accounting activities and enhance process efficiency. Organize and prepare documentation for annual audits and assist in the generation of monthly financial statements. Investigate and explain variances within general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate financial reporting. Reconcile bank statements and manage fixed asset reconciliations. Requirements
Experience and Education
BA/BS with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, manufacturing and/or distribution required. Knowledge of GAAP and experience with ERP systems. Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPS. Understanding of cost accounting and experience with fixed assets management. High level of organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate personal effectiveness and credibility.
