The Lead Accountant is an integral member of the finance team, playing a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the department. This position utilizes sound business practices to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Finance department and the organization as a whole. The Lead Accountant is responsible for overseeing budget management, the maintenance of the general ledger, and all account reconciliations. Additionally, they prepare detailed financial reports while ensuring compliance with non-profit accounting standards, and they collaborate with various departments to further the organization's mission and strategic objectives.

Skills/Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. Minimum 5 Years of experience in Nonprofit Finance/Accounting.

Advanced Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.

Finance System: Great Plains Dynamics experience.

Reconciling Accounts: Reconciling general ledger accounts, sub-ledger to general ledger account balances, and balance sheets.

Financial Reporting: Preparing budgets, budget to actuals, financial statements, and forecasts.

Financial Analysis: Analyzing financial data and statements for discrepancies, and revenue enhancement.

Auditing: Participating in external audits, coordinating semi-annual audits, and supporting internal and external financial and program audits.

Must have strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills. Ability to multitask, manage priorities and work in high-stress environment.

Outstanding leadership and communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to customer service and proven ability to work effectively in a multi-tasked team environment.

Must have transportation. Valid Florida Driver's License with full access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage (proof of insurance is required).
