Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive
Staff Accountant
to join our team in Miami. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, support monthly close processes, and contribute to various accounting functions. This role offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for growth and development in the field of accounting.
Key Responsibilities General Ledger and Financial Records : Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate accounting records. Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.
Month-End Close : Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure all entries and reconciliations are completed in a timely manner.
Accounts Payable and Receivable : Process invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments accurately. Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
Compliance and Audits : Assist with internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation and schedules. Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Financial Reporting and Analysis : Prepare and analyze financial reports, identifying variances and trends. Provide support to management with ad hoc financial analyses.
Process Improvement : Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes for increased efficiency. Support system upgrades or implementations as needed.
Collaboration : Work closely with other departments, such as finance, HR, and operations, to ensure financial accuracy. Maintain effective communication with vendors, clients, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience : 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting setting. Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or NetSuite).
Skills : Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.). Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Competencies : Attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
