This position is being recruited for in Anchorage, Soldotna, Wasilla, Fairbanks, or Juneau.
Pay will be determined based on location of selected individual.
Anchorage, Soldotna, Wasilla salary: $2,940.00
Fairbanks salary: $3,028.50
J uneau salary: $3,087.00
What you will be doing: The person in this position will be part of the Drinking Water Program team dedicated to the protection of public health by ensuring the delivery of safe drinking water to the citizens of Alaska. This position reports directly to the Drinking Water Program Manager and will be responsible for leading EPA regulation adoption projects for the Program and will also be working directly with public water systems in resolving significant deficiencies found during required sanitary survey inspections. Other projects may be assigned as needed. Our organization, mission, and culture: The primary mission of the Division of Environmental Health is the protection of public health by providing technical and compliance assistance for environmental protection, safe food and safe drinking water for all Alaskans. The person in this position will be a critical team member contributing to the effort to provide safe drinking water to the citizens and visitors to the State of Alaska. The Drinking Water Program focuses on providing a supportive environment for our employees to learn and grow in their positions.

The working environment you can expect: This position will be located where the best applicant resides (Anchorage, Fairbanks, Soldotna, Wasilla or Juneau). The person in this position will be working daily with a team of approximately 60 scientists and engineers managing a variety of statewide projects, including oversight of all drinking water data, implementing consistency in regulatory interpretation, project management, sanitary surveys and Program workflow for new drinking water infrastructure projects funded by the federal infrastructure bill. Occasional travel to villages and communities spanning all areas of the state may be necessary.
