The Sisters of Charity Health System is recruiting for a full-time
Staff Accountant
in the Cleveland office. The Staff Accountant will assist with accounting and financial functions including posting and processing of transactions and reporting of financial operations for multiple entites. This position reports to the Controller.
Responsibilities:
Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance and safety standards Keeps informed of generally accepted accounting principles and standards affecting not for profit accounting Prepares and posts monthly general and standard journal entries and maintains monthly account reconciliations for multiple entities Prepares monthly financial statements for multiple entities Performs bank reconciliations monthly Performs monthly account analysis as needed; functions as financial resource to Foundation President and/or ministry Executive Director Assumes responsibility for external reporting required under Federal and State grants as needed Maintains accounting records of grants and ensures compliance with all tax and other regulations Maintains special accounting records and reporting for initiatives/programs as required Prepares audit support schedules as directed Prepares annual tax returns Ensures annual tax reporting requirements are met Enhances professional growth through participation in educational programs and literature Qualifications
:
Bachelor's degree with business major in accounting One to four years of previous accounting/financial experience Personal computer and accounting related software Ability to perform established duties with minimum supervision and work independently Must have good organization skills; the ability to coordinate several activities concurrently with accuracy and attention to detail Good judgement and ability to make decisions Must be able to function well as part of a team Develop plans to meet specific objectives Interact positively with non-accounting personnel
