The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW), School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM), Aerospcae Medicine Dept (FE), Aerospace Medicine Education and Training Division (FEE), International Aerospace Medicine Education (FEEI) seeks to hire an entry-level DO-0301-01, Program Specialist in Dayton, Ohio. The incumbent will serve as the International Military Student Officer (IMSO) in support of students at USAFSAM and the 342 TRS.
Position duties include, but are not limited to: Works with FEEi leadership to support both the Defense Security Cooperation Education and Training Program (SCETP) and the DoD Field Studies Program (FSP) as outlined in AFI 16-105 Joint Security Cooperation Education and Training (JSCET). Monitors procedures to provide overall (administrative, personal, and social) support to all assigned IMS. Refers/coordinates with Chief IMSO to manage problems the IMS may encounter (personal, interpersonal, speeding tickets, etc) Executes support functions for students' vouchers, pay and allowances, travel, required instructional materials, etc. Traveling occasionally with IMS to provide IMSO support. When directed by Chief IMSO, communicates with AFSAT regarding student status, academic problems, course completion, relevant personal problems, civilian fines/legal matters, medical problems, passport/visa problems. Updates student info in SANWeb as required. Liaises between course directors and FEEi staff to facilitate compliance with IMS standards. Monitors student progress and notifies chief IMSO, branch chief, and unit leadership of any academic issues or problems with students' successful course completion. As appropriate, participates in counseling of students and assists in keeping official record of counseling sessions. Performs day to-day office operations including office logistical support, assisting with preparing reports and presentations, responding/tracking tasking from leadership. Conducts English Comprehension and Language (ECL) testing. Assists in execution of AFSAT Field Studies Program. Provides transportation and movement for IMS.Operates/coordinates government vehicles and monthly reporting requirements with staff and wing offices. Telework

United States Citizenship These positions may be filled as a Modified Term Appointment for a period of 1-year but not more than 5-years with the ability to extend for one additional year. Employees hired under this authority may be eligible for conversion to a career conditional or career appointment. The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. This position is a Temporary Appointment: NTE 24 Months (2 years). Desired Qualifications
