Position Overview

The Manager, Talent Development is responsible for driving the success of talent development initiatives, ensuring projects and programs align with organizational goals, foster a culture of continuous learning, and promote employee engagement. This role will oversee the execution of key programs, including onboarding and job description development, ensuring that each initiative supports the company’s core values and business objectives.

The Manager of Talent Development is an exempt position.

Duties and Responsibilities

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in alignment with organizational policies and applicable laws, while promoting a culture of respect, collaboration, and accountability.

Interview, hire, develop, and retain employees.

Supervise, mentor, and guide a team of two or more full-time employees.

Plan, assign, and direct work in a way that encourages employee autonomy while providing appropriate support.

Conduct regular performance feedback and coaching, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for professional growth.

Reward outstanding performance, celebrate team successes, and acknowledge individual contributions.

Address performance issues or conflicts with empathy and a focus on solutions, providing clear expectations and support for improvements when necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage talent development initiatives and projects in alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.

Drive employee engagement by aligning initiatives with organizational core values, fostering a culture of development and growth through continuous learning.

Support the development of performance management, goal setting, and succession planning initiatives in partnership with human resources leadership.

Manage the organization's onboarding and mentoring programs.

Manage job analysis for creation and maintenance of accurate job descriptions.

Administer exit and employee engagement surveys in partnership with the workforce intelligence team.

Prioritize and champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in all aspects of talent development.

Facilitate transparency between leadership and organizational teams, encouraging collaboration and knowledge exchange among cross-functional groups.

Identify and manage stakeholders for talent development initiatives.

Solicit feedback and analyze data to improve the work of the team.

Develop effective and appropriate communication across all organizational levels.

Discern and maintain confidential and sensitive data in human resources processes.

Manage budgets for talent development programs and initiatives.

Follow all company policies, procedures, and work rules.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, education, or related field of study.

Required: Experience with enterprise solutions for performance management, goal setting, and succession planning.

Required: Experience in project management, with a record of successfully leading and delivering projects on time and within scope.

Required: Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer or software programs necessary to complete job duties.

Preferred: Master’s degree in human resources or business.

Preferred: Prior experience partnering in curriculum development and the delivery of education, training, or employee development programs.

Preferred: Implementation experience with enterprise solutions for HR talent management and development programming.

Manages and allocates resources effectively to support initiatives, including time and effort of the team.

Exceptional oral and written communication, and advanced presentation skills.
