The Sr. Production Manager will be a hybrid role, responsible for owning all the functions of the manufacturing team including the Auto-Pack Pre-Roll, Flower & Distribution Departments, vape filling while also providing support to the lab along with performing engineering functions; they will collaborate closely with the Cultivation, Accounting/Finance, Compliance, Sales & Marketing departments. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader, well organized, and have experience in a high-throughput company; They must possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a keen focus on process engineering functions. The ideal candidate should demonstrate exceptional communication and creative problem-solving abilities, along with a high level of attention to detail. A strong emphasis on manufacturing scaling and process optimization is essential, as they will be responsible for identifying and implementing improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure high-quality production standards. The Sr. Production Manager will manage, coach, and mentor a team of Supervisors, and Associates, create and maintain engagement, and develop positive partnerships within all the site's departments and management teams; this role will be reporting to the Director of Production and VP of Operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the site is in full compliance with all local and state laws while assisting with regulatory inspections Implement and manage all Company policies and procedures Implementation of 5s and other lean manufacturing tools Work cross-functionally through the operation and maintain a hands-on "lead by example" approach Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed by all employees in the unit Monitor levels and ensure quality of all products and package testing protocols are properly followed Ensure proper product labeling, tagging, logging, and traceability both physically and in the state's STS software Facilitate regular department audits while actively seeking ways to improve systems, yields and quality Partner with Procurement / Supply Chain to order and maintain Production supplies and equipment stocked Oversee the hiring, training, coaching, and development of the team Provide oversight and coaching to team members to ensure highest level of efficiency and output Oversee department schedules and ensure they are maintained based on the operational needs of the unit Delegate, manage, and empower the team to achieve an optimal performance Actively participate in management meetings while providing updates and solutions-based commentary Align with the Director of Production to set, meet, and manage all financial and operational goals Assist in all duties as assigned to ensure the team, department, and company maintain success SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Able to work in a fast-paced environment while managing and meeting completion deadlines Strong math, organizational, and computer skills Skilled in manual and automatic packaging (manufacturing) Knowledge and familiarity with inventory management software(s) Strong leadership with a focus in manufacturing scaling and staffing Problem identification and able to clearly report progress, status, and observations Proactive attention to cleaning and sanitation Self-starter who can take instructions, follow directions, and work independently/with colleagues Strong communicator, detail-oriented, multi-tasker, problem-solver, flexible, friendly, and self-aware Committed to the team's needs and success QUALIFICATIONS
21+ and currently residing in the USA Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or electrical engineering Production / Manufacturing experience, 4+ years (preferred) Six sigma and lean manufacturing experience Product Preparation / Assembling experience, 4+ years (preferred) Inventory Handling experience, 4+ years (preferred) Multi-Unit experience, 4+ years (preferred) Team Building & Management experience, 4+ years (preferred) SOP Development & Documentation experience (preferred) Cannabis industry experience (preferred) WORKING CONDITIONS
Fast-paced, rapid-changing, retail dispensary environment Front-facing, customer-care focused areas/stations Confined workstations near other people (employees, guests, vendors) and crowds Handling cannabis products and packaged goods Kneeling, squatting, lifting, bending, walking, pivoting, and long-term standing (all expected activities) *NOTE: The facility contains confined spaces that may only be accessible by ascending/descending stairwells while traveling throughout building.
