Position: Speech and Language Therapist | FTE 1.0
Hazel Park is seeking applicants for the position of Speech and Language Therapist. The district is served by a caring and professional teaching and other staff providing instruction and support to approximately 3,100 students. SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Michigan Certification in Speech Pathology. Current Michigan Licensure. Highly Qualified in accordance with No Child Left Behind Guidelines. Possess Certificate of Clinical Competency. Documented continuing education for professional development. The ability to implement and monitor IEP's. Knowledge and/or understanding in consistent use of data to monitor student growth, inform instruction, and develop interventions. Experience and/or knowledge of Common Core Standards, Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports Systems, Technology Integration, and individualized programming options for students. Superior communication skills in writing and speaking with all levels of management and staff. Applicants must be able to show proof of a satisfactory criminal background check as defined by state standards. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide Speech and Language Therapy to students per the IEP. Evaluate suspected or identified students for Speech and Language services. Plan and schedule speech only MET and IEPT meetings. Participate in MET and IEPT meetings when appropriate. Consult, communicate, and collaborate with other professionals regarding specific students, educational plans and programs. Adapt materials and activities according to student's needs. Maintain records in accordance with professional standards, federal and state guidelines, and school district policy. Prioritize and schedule tasks. Manage inventory of equipment, assessments, and supplies. Other duties as assigned by administrator. APPLICATION PROCEDURE.
