Within CO+I, Datacenter Construction Delivery (DCD) is responsible for delivering datacenter capacity for Microsoft’s cloud business meeting all safety, quality, sustainability, schedule, and budget requirements.The DCD Construction Americas (AMER) Project Delivery Director - Engineering, Procurement & Construction provides critical leadership, ownership and accountability for the team's deployment and delivery of large-scale, campus and/or regionally based delivery solutions to predictably deliver Datacenter capacity.  This role is responsible for safe worksites by adhering to organizational and industry procedures; reviews prior audit results and relevant legislation to recommend and manage safety compliance. Influences and provides direction and coaching to internal and external partners to facilitate and accomplish complex, critical issues which may significantly impact global construction projects. Reviews and provides feedback to the team regarding resource procurement, allocation, and inventory. Develops, manages, and reports on Safety, Quality, scope, schedule, and budget for the AMER regional projects. Responsible for oversight and implements project risk identification/mitigation, governance and controls for all construction work activities. Demonstratable ability to use data to influence & drive decisions.Construction Project Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $273,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $299,400 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation. Conducts frequent site visits within the Region to assess project status, risk, directly supports and promotes project team morale.  Provides critical Leadership and oversight of the Sub-Regional Leads to ensure that project reviews and status updates are based on current data, risk assessments and mitigation strategies that proactively resolve constraints and blockers that may inhibit on-time and on budget project delivery to the business.  Leads and drives coordination for meetings and activities with vendors, cost managers, and/or owner/architect/contractors. Initializes and identifies opportunities to discuss and integrate lessons learned.Engages, advises, and collaborates with other internal teams Datacenter Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Project Controls, CO+I, Legal, Risk Management to maintain the corporate vision and create goals for the projects.Prepares root cause analysis (RCA) and shares lessons learned with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the teams are learning and getting better together for the business.Establishes, reviews, approves, and communicates risk mitigation goals and develops metrics, dashboards and/or scorecards to drive progress.Analyzes safety metrics and communicates and applies results to drive project action and individual development to lower-level staff and vendors.Directs and oversees the management of vendors, ensuring compliance with contracts and prior audit results.Controls vendor performance relative to cash-flow and budget summaries (with cost management support).Oversees and implements project controls in work activities (e.g., project expenditure requests (PERs), professional service requests (PSRs), change orders, pay applications and preparation of requests for proposals (RFPs)Identifies and directs vendor scope of work, design review of site and building plans, change orders, and invoices.Oversees the creation and application of best practices for identifying and driving cost-effective solutions for the strategic and tactical delivery of a construction project.Identifies growth opportunities, builds development plans with direct reports, and conducts development discussions.
