We are working with a mid-sized regional company in the metro who is looking to add a Controller to their team. This organization has an exceptional culture where they support their employees in continuous learning. This is a highly visible role within the organization and does work very closely with the CFO and the CEO. In addition, this Controller will have 2 direct reports to mentor and oversee.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONTROLLER:
Perform the Controllers monthly financial closing duties, such as; preparing accrual entries, entering monthly requisitions, reconciling ledger accounts, and preparing internal financial statements
Development/mentoring of accounting staff
Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process
The Controller manages the monthly preparation of bank and investment reconciliations
Prepare the financial statements for year end financial audit
Provide leadership in driving continued process efficiencies/automation
Prepare all tax reporting requirements on a regular basis
The Controller will support additional ad-hoc projects as requested
JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS CONTROLLER OPPORTUNITY:
BS in Accounting or Finance, MBA or CPA is a plus
5+ years of relevant accounting and finance experience
Solid understanding of accounting processes and procedures as well as US GAAP
ERP system experience
Strong Excel skills
