YOU As the Strategic Sourcing Analyst, you will provide critical reporting capabilities, including supplier research, market analysis, pricing analysis, etc. for the Strategic Sourcing team and support the development of sourcing strategies and cost savings opportunities for the organization. This position is responsible for owning the development and enhancement of monthly/quarterly reporting of KPIs (savings tracking, price variances, quality, delivery, inventory). You are experienced in spend analytics and able to support negotiation preparations and various sourcing tactics, including identifying potential suppliers, assessing supplier capabilities, and monitoring and tracking vendor performance. You act as a resource to mine and analyze data across multiple systems and utilize standardized tools to synthesize information for strategic use. You work collaboratively to find solutions and deliver results that will ultimately meet the organizational goals and customer demand. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time) Act as a subject matter expert in data mining and analysis. Provide ongoing support & development of reporting and analysis tools for use by the Sourcing team and cross functionally. Evaluate existing internal and/or external data to provide support and actionable insight across the team. Create and maintain reporting and metrics for the Strategic Sourcing team. Provide comprehensive analysis to support strategic sourcing solutions, Drive data-cleansing and standardization as appropriate. Capture commodity market data and create comprehensive market and supplier summaries that support sourcing strategies. Track commodity shortages, price increases, and other events to ensure supply continuity. (40%) Work on initiatives across a wide range of Simpson Strong-Tie operating areas, as well as home office business needs. Partner with Finance to provide cost analysis to support negotiations and vendor decisions. Work collaboratively to support sourcing and buying activities for assigned categories of spend Participate in sourcing Events (RFPs, etc.), manage vendor calls, participate and contribute to project teams, and support negotiations. Proactively support potential vendors identification and partner cross functionally to onboard and qualify vendors. (30%) Analyze, organize, and contribute to improving sourcing processes to streamline operations and reduce costs. Actively support implementation of cost savings as appropriate. Develop SOPs and processing documents to establish Sourcing CI and best practices. Develop, support, and improve business processes. (30%) DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE If you can do everything listed above, you've got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business, Operations, or Supply Chain-related field Minimum of 5 years work experience in Procurement, Sourcing, supply chain, operations, or Finance Familiarity with the Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Processes, a basic understanding of the Supply Chain, and experience in project management Ability to work in a decentralized organization Advanced reporting, designing and data analytic skills. Ability to analyze and collect data and make sound business judgments. Fast learner that demonstrates strong business acumen and communication skills Experience with SAP, or other comparable ERP system, including using and interacting with MRP systems Experience with Microsoft Suite of products, inc. Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required. Achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task. Identify options for solving a problem and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, vendors and other employees of the organization. Write in a clear, concise, and organized manner for the intended audience. Ability to multitask and take imitation in a challenging, fast-paced environment. WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates in a professional office environment where standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. are frequently used. Travel This position requires domestic and international travel up to 15% of the time. Work Status & Location This full-time, exempt position is in McKinney, Tx. Or Pleasanton CA. Relocation Relocation is not available for this position. Pay $71,500.00 - $114,400.00 / year * Posted pay range is based upon national average and may vary depending on geographical work location.
