Position Overview
The Supply Chain Director's main responsibility is to develop and achieve an overall Supply Chain Management Plan in line with business objectives and strategic business plans. This role will have 4 direct reports in a Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager & the procurement team. Principal Activities
Design and implement improvements to Supply Chain to support business growth and improvement strategies. Continues focus on responsiveness to customers and reduce operating expenses and working capital. Accountable for Sourcing, Supplier Quality, and Purchasing functions/teams for delivering Supply chain objectives while ensuring continued Talent Development in the Organization as the Business evolves. Develop inventory management strategies and programs to ensure maximum inventory turns, best price, high quality and consistent support to manufacturing. Work with manufacturing to rationalize outsourcing and in-sourcing activities as it relates to New Products from an Industrialization Standpoint and sustaining products from a Cost reduction/simplification standpoint. Design and implement a Global Sourcing Strategy that supports Business growth objectives and is in line with the overall A&D Group Supply Chain Objectives. Drive Synergies from a Sourcing (Supplier Rationalization), Process and Tools by close collaboration with Group Supply Chain. Reviews and ensures that the appropriate financial metrics are monitored, and proper fiscal controls are in place to maximize cost savings throughout the function. Develop in conjunction with Operations the department operating budgets consistent with goals and objectives and corporate plans. Develop and establish improved controls and reporting systems to provide accurate information as to accomplishments, progress, performance, and capabilities in controlling expenditures, savings, etc. Keep abreast of trends and improvements in the field of Supply Chain through appropriate publications and outside affiliations. Perform related duties as assigned or as responsibilities necessitate. Assist in the general management of the business. Maintain the professional atmosphere and capability of the department. Enforce the very highest ethical standards. Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline required. 10 Years supply chain management required. Sand casting commodity experience required. 5+ years of People Management Experience required. ITAR requirements for Government contracts required. Knowledge of contracts flow downs to customers due to government contract requirements required. Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, balance, and manage multiple efforts with strong results/goal orientation. Solid analytical skills and solution-driven thinking; collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data. Displays original thinking and creativity; Meets challenges with resourcefulness; Generates suggestions for improving work. Builds bridges and connections. Is easy to approach and talk to; is a good listener; relates well to all people throughout the organization.
