We are looking for a
Business Controller
to support our Graphics Team out of our Houston, TX Location. Summary: The Business Controller position is primarily responsible for providing timely and accurate reporting and analysis covering monthly, quarterly and annual performance, against historical, annual Plan, and forecast models. Reporting to the Corporate Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, the position is the Finance business partner to the President, LSI Graphics business (dotted-line relationship) and team. As an integral member of the business team, the position will provide value add analysis, financial counsel and make recommendations to support the business decision-making process. The position will manage one professional resource and leverage the Finance Shared Services organization for other metrics and information. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Accountable for all Financial Planning/Reporting activities for the business, with a strong emphasis on the P&L and select Balance Sheet items. The planning cycle includes annual plan, quarterly forecast, and monthly current view projections. Is responsible for the performance of six internal legal companies of varying sizes, both foreign and domestic. Rigorously profile the actual performance of the business, including complete analysis and reconciliation of EBITDA performance. These include key performance measurements of Sales volume, selling price, material purchase costs, labor productivity, variable and fixed cost overhead spending, and SG&A expenses. Strong focus on non-financial metrics/indicators such as headcount, safety, on-time delivery, quality, etc. Profile business sales and profitability from multiple views; by sales channel, market vertical, customer, and products. Partner closely with Director of FP&A, President, Graphics business, and functional leaders, to develop/execute key projects and initiatives. Provide management insight and analysis to growth plans and performance evaluation. Manage all Product Cost activities for the business. This includes all elements of Product Costing, material, direct labor and overhead, hours, capacity, and absorption efficiency. Work closely with Graphics President and function leaders on go-forward strategic business planning and develop critical go-forward business case reinvestment proposals, including new products, manufacturing equipment, etc. Execute responsibilities within requirements of the company’s internal control framework Qualifications and Requirements: Degree in Accounting/Finance is required. MBA a plus. Individual must have Finance experience in durable goods business environment, serving regional and national markets. Experience with complete end-to-end business model required. Bilingual or Multilingual, including English & Spanish, is desired. Individual should have a strong cost accounting foundation and understand the operational transaction flow associated with the production of goods. Strong, above average financial planning and analysis skills, proven ability to interpret change in business margin and operating results. Approximately 8-15 years of experience in the finance/accounting business environment of a manufacturing company. Ability to think critically about the business, alert, possess broad business orientation. Self-starter, exhibit strong curiosity about the business model. Possess effective communication skills. The candidate will be a visible and vocal member of the management team, collaborate and maturely challenge various key stakeholders. Excellent computer skills, including ERP and report writing software, advanced in Microsoft Excel. Select travel may be required.
