Kemps is a subsidiary of Dairy Farmers of America(DFA). Hours: 7am-3:30pm Wage: $22.50/hour POSITION SUMMARY: Coordinates the purchasing, delivery scheduling and inventory control of packaging & ingredient materials for plant operations. Controls, coordinates and maintains flow of inventories to assure accurate inventory levels are maintained in order to meet customer demands. RESPONSIBILITIES: Orders packaging, ingredient materials and other needed supplies to ensure there is an uninterrupted flow of production and that delivery of requested product is obtained. Monitors incoming shipments of goods; enters data into computer or spreadsheets to ensure that errors in delivery are identified and corrected in a timely and accurate manner. Works with suppliers to appropriately process any damaged or defective goods delivered and to make sure issues are resolved. Designs trucks of purchased (suppliers or inter-plant/warehouse transfers) products for delivery to warehouses or key accounts. Coordinates with plant transportation employee(s) or other plant employees to make certain delivery of products are timely. May approve and reject add-ons and cuts in order to ensure most effective and efficient delivery of product. Monitors physical inventories, takes sample counts, and reviews physical and perpetual inventory records on a daily basis so that discrepancies can be identified and resolved in a timely manner. Works with internal sales representatives and/or account managers regarding inventory status on promotions, out of stock and new products so they can communicate in a timely fashion to customers in order to provide just in time customer demand. Enters receivers, requisitions and/or POs on computerized system, verifies output in inventory records to confirm accurate receiving records are kept. May assist with accounts payable items including the calculation of tax accrual and the maintaining of utilities file. Compiles information into an access database in order to maintain records for product tracking to include; load out dates, customer numbers, cases ordered, out of code, cuts, etc. providing data for question/answer inquiries. Based on knowledge, skills, ability and experience is able to vacation relief for the production planner or warehouse coordinator positions using independent judgment to make business decisions. Provides information and is a resource to plant management, quality assurance, and plant employees during the absence of the production planner or other office staff. May at times recommend or suggest ideas or solutions to problems based on level of knowledge, skills, experience and ability. Performs a number of clerical tasks in which may include; usage sheets, charts, data entry, allergen matrix review, product documentation, mail sorting, office supply ordering, copying, and distribution of production schedules. Performs other responsibilities as determined by business needs.
