Technical Product Manager (TPM)

in McGraw Hill, is a results-oriented individual with a passion and capability for creating high-quality learning solutions, on time, on scope, and on quality. As a leader of products, platforms, and/or teams within Digital Platform Group (DPG), the TPM is an advocate for customer-empathetic software, able to promote teamwork and knowledge sharing and demonstrate thoughtful collaboration with customers and stakeholders across multiple business units. Partnering with business unit product managers, the TPM designs, develops, and implements digital learning solutions. Leading 1 to 3 Agile development teams, the TPM drives the successful delivery of product and platform iterations to the market. They help define, manage, and implement innovative digital products and functionalities that meet market demands and MH priorities. Acting as the product's conscience, the TPM prioritizes customer needs against available resources to deliver viable solutions that enhance learning for students, instructors, and institutions. This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. It requires up to 25% travel for the year and preference will be given to applicants who reside in New York, New Jersey, or the Boston area. What you will be doing Be the conscience of the product, continuously view the product from the user's perspective, ensuring the best possible experience. Prioritize customer experience throughout all development stages. Partner with multiple product owners including the AI product owner, to develop a vision, strategy, and prioritized feature backlog. Resolve ambiguous product requirements to achieve a clear vision that can then be shared with product and/or platform team(s). Develop a shared vision for product(s) through investigation of market demands, user feedback, and competitive analysis. In partnership with the business unit, Gather and prioritize product and customer requirements, articulate user personas, and facilitate user testing programs. Own and deliver product cycle plans aligned with business milestones. Partner with development, business, and customer-facing teams to ensure timely, budget-friendly, and quality releases. Draft project charters and requirements, incorporating inputs from all stakeholders. Translate customer needs into actionable tasks for the engineering team and ensure the delivered product meets roadmap milestones. Oversee all aspects of the product, including technical debt, infrastructure, tools, and features. Ensure continuous attention and improvement. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving customer-reported issues. Assess trends and suggest enhancements to improve the user experience and reduce call volume. Identify and manage cross-team dependencies, leading collaboration for a seamless user experience. Ensure all affected teams understand and manage these dependencies effectively. Track competitive and technological landscape, keeping abreast of new innovations and developments in the market space. Partner with business units to provide training on new product features. Work with sales and marketing to promote the product and ensure a positive impact on revenues. About You 3+ years of experience in leading Agile-based, software product development teams and/or leading content development teams, with an emphasis on Pre-K through Higher Education content development and management. Experience evaluating AI solutions and implementing AI features and workflows. Demonstrated success defining and launching complex SaaS products, especially in educational software, to large, established user bases and with no downtime. Experience with wireframe and design analysis, business/e-commerce/SaaS application analysis, use case diagram development, and user story writing. Demonstrated ability to lead user-centered design processes, with a strong focus on user experience. Knowledge of instructional design; experience in scalable production of digital content Jira and Confluence experience Experience working with remote teams in various time zones. Acute attention to detail, ability to analyze complex systems, and expertise in managing multiple projects concurrently. Strong ability to understand, write, demonstrate, and transform technical concepts into non-technical terms that are understandable by business and customer stakeholders and teams Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Scrum Product Owner Certification is desirable. Knowledge of and experience using Higher Education digital products and platforms is desirable Why work for us? The pay range for this position is between $93,950 - $130,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
