Senior Investment Accountant

Location: Office-based or Hybrid, Exton, PA

Position Summary:

Bentley Systems is seeking a highly skilled Senior Investment Accountant with expertise in investment portfolio accounting to join our finance team. As a Senior Investment Accountant you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and reporting of our investment portfolio, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with financial standards. You will collaborate closely with our Ecosystems and Ventures teams and other stakeholders to provide insightful analysis and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, exceptional analytical skills, and a deep understanding of various investment instruments and related accounting.

Your Day-to-Day:

Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to evaluate investment opportunities, including financial modeling, ROI, and exit analyses

Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing investments, preparing regular reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders

Develop recommendations based on thorough analysis and research findings

Stay abreast of market conditions, regulatory changes, and macroeconomic factors that may impact investment strategies and portfolio performance

EManage the accounting activities related to our investment portfolio, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements

Monitor and assess the valuation of investments, including fair value measurements, impairment testing, and adjustments.

Stay updated on related accounting standards and ensure adherence in reporting

Identify and analyze risks associated with the investment portfolio accounting processes. Maintain internal controls to mitigate risks and enhance accuracy and reliability of financial data

Reconciliation of investment related G/L accounts i

Assisting in the quarterly preparation of 10-Q Footnotes

Support audit processes related to the investment portfolio. Coordinate with auditors to provide documentation, explanations, and ensure timely completion of audits

What You Bring to The Team:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent training and experience.

Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards, particularly as they relate to investments is preferred

Strong proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and accounting for venture style investments is required

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide meaningful insights

Effective communication skills with the ability to present findings and recommendations to stakeholders

This is a full-time role expected to work 40 hours per week, hybrid or office-based in the US.

Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any otherphysical requirements (https://www.bls.gov/ors/factsheet/visual-overview-of-physical-demands.htm) ). The role requires communication with managers, peers, and other colleagues of the company in person (on occasion), and by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling, and meeting functions.

This role does not require travel.
