GENERAL SUMMARY
This position is the lead for all general ledger accounting activities. This role will be critically involved in monthly and year-end closings and will be involved with other accounting functions. Monthly closing schedules include adherence to SOX internal controls, reconciliation for all GL balance sheet accounts, review of expense accounts and explaining variances to budget and forecast expectations. Will be involved with interim and annual audit from both external and internal basis. Also, investigates and incorporates improvements to current accounting procedures and systems upgrades. Accounting activities performed may include posting, summarizing, reconciling, auditing, ledger maintenance, statement and report preparation, and/or special projects/studies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that corporate policies are maintained.
Maintain, and reconcile inter-company accounts for South Bend.
Review and prepare in transit inventory accrual.
Maintain all customer pricing, commercial team relationships, and dispute management.
General Ledger administration
both local system and mapping/reporting in the corporate system uploads, reconciliations and tracking optimizing SAP to leverage its full potential.
Customer Tooling tracking, reconciling and reimbursement.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in accounting
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 4 years of experience in general ledger accounting. SAP experience preferred. Strong analytical, communication (written and oral), and organizational skills. Must have ability to effectively train, motivate, and supervise others to achieve departmental and company goals. Confidentiality of information.
