Warehouse Manager
Sterling, VA
Pay: $60k+
MUST:
Experienced Warehouse Manager
10+ years overall Warehouse experience
5 – 7 years experience Warehouse Manager
Bachelors degree in Operations, Logistics, or related field or a combination of equivalent education/experience.
DUTIES:
Works with the Vice President, Community Building and Neighborhood Resources, to provide leadership, direction, and management to all aspects and operations of the Food Hub.
Ensures operational excellence in all warehouse areas including efficient operations of warehouse systems and related equipment, proper layout of warehouse and product placement, and ongoing maintenance and organization of all warehouse areas to always remain ready for day-to-day operations, tours, food drive, and special events.
Creates, updates, and maintains standard operating procedures and documentation.
Plans and leads the daily operation of the warehouse, ensuring the quality and integrity of both the product and the system inventory, from point of receipt to distribution.
Promotes cooperation with other departments and leads staff and peers to anticipate and solve problems and plan for upcoming events and seasonal changes.
Maintains a visible presence on the floor of the Food Hub and identify potential problem areas, such as congestion, slotting issues and safety.
Drives continuous improvement and efficiency efforts and assists with the implementation of innovative and effective solutions within inbound and outbound warehouse operations.
Implements practices and policies to run the warehouse within budget and recommends budgetary changes and improvements to the Vice President.
Ensures that warehouse is clean and provides a safe work environment.
Receiving
Responsible for receipt and racking of Food Hub inventory and ensures quality control of all products before distribution.
Ensures all food is inspected and discarded if showing signs of damage, aging or spoilage.
Provide for the appropriate composting or disposal of all expired/unusable food items.
Ensures all food and non-food items are properly weighed and sorted, utilizing staff and volunteers, per inventory system protocols.
Maintains records of equipment maintenance, cleaning schedules, temperature logs, and exterminator reports.
Assists in ensuring all licenses and inspections for the building are up to date and that the agency remains compliant with all regulatory entities.
