A leading specialized contractor is seeking an Accounting Manager who will also oversee Office Management duties to join their team. This dual-role position is critical to ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining a well-organized and efficient office environment. The ideal candidate has a strong background in construction or subcontracting, with expertise in job costing, project accounting, financial analysis, and office management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage job cost accounting for various construction projects, ensuring accuracy in tracking costs, revenue, and profitability.
  • Oversee the general ledger, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
  • Assist in the development of company budgets and forecasts; provide variance analysis.
  • Ensure accurate management of accounts payable, receivable, and payroll processes.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, local regulations, and construction contract accounting standards.
  • Perform financial analysis to support decision-making, including cost analysis, cash flow projections, and profitability assessments.
  • Oversee day-to-day office operations, including scheduling, supply management, and administrative tasks.
  • Coordinate office communications, maintain filing systems, and manage company documents.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for office-related vendors and service providers.
  • Assist with onboarding and administrative HR tasks, such as maintaining employee records and processing new hire paperwork.
  • Work closely with project managers, senior leadership, and other departments to provide accurate financial insights and support project success.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a Senior Accountant or similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, job costing, and project accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and high accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to handle both accounting and office management duties effectively.
