Job Description
The Safety Manager - Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and safe working conditions. Conduct risk assessments and safety audits, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions. Lead the facility's emergency response planning and coordination. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local safety, health, and environmental regulations. Keep up-to-date with changes in legislation and industry best practices, and adjust company safety policies as needed. Prepare and submit safety reports, incident investigations, and compliance documents to regulatory bodies. Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure understanding and adherence to safety procedures. Manage the onboarding safety training for new hires and maintain training records. Lead investigations of safety incidents, near-misses, and injuries, conducting root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions. Maintain accurate records of incidents and safety metrics, preparing reports for senior management and regulatory agencies. Promote a proactive safety culture by engaging employees in safety initiatives and encouraging continuous improvement. Lead safety committee meetings and facilitate cross-departmental communication on safety issues. Collaborate with leadership teams to set measurable safety goals and track performance. Oversee Process Safety Management (PSM) systems to ensure the safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals in compliance with regulations. Ensure that all employees are properly trained in chemical safety protocols, such as the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper chemical handling techniques. The Successful Applicant
The ideal Safety Manager - Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of safety management experience, preferably in manufacturing or a similar industrial environment. In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, PSM standards, and chemical safety protocols. Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis. CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or similar certification preferred. Strong understanding of chemical safety, hazard communication, and emergency response protocols. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels to foster a strong safety culture. Proficiency in safety management software and tools. What's on Offer
