Job Description
Tasks / Responsibilities:
Assign daily priorities to and supervise the work of inspection personnel.
Oversee calibration system and ensure calibrations are completed on time
Perform Incoming, First Piece, and Final Inspections on sheet metal components as well as finished Cabinets and Fume Hoods as required
Drive Operator inspection training
Maintain UL and FDA files and act as lead liaison during inspection audits.
Act as the lead member of the safety committee, coordinate monthly team meetings, and assist in employee safety training.
Lead MRB process, including holding meetings and disposing of dispositioned items, and tracking of trends. Lead corrective action (5 why, etc.) meetings to find the true root cause and permanent resolutions.
Recommend continuous improvements including standardized work with the goal of reducing waste and variation.
Recommend preventive actions to address potential issues before they occur.
Process and track any RMAs on the defective purchased products and follow up with the supplier for corrective action and replacement.
Assist in other assignments as requested by senior management
Key Must Have’s:
Degree ideal, but not mandatory, experience can outweigh the degree.
5 years as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing environment, ideally in Sheetmetal and/or Metal Fabrication, can also come from mfg environments like: Pharma, Food, Medical, Aerospace industries.
2-3 years of experience supervising Quality Assurance personnel.
Any ERP experience (They use Visual ERP and can train).
Must be strong in MS Office Suite.
Be able to generate various quality reports: ERC Meetings, Deficiency reports, support MRB Meetings,
Experience leading MRB Meetings.
Experience tracking and reporting any RMAs on the defective purchased products, get it corrected and follow up with the supplier.
Be able to handle effectively corrective action.
Lean experience a plus.
Familiarity with UL, CE, CUL, and/or FDA certifications, preferred.
