Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation's discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

We are looking for a Warehouse Shipping Supervisor to support rail car and truck shipping through the preparation of case goods, drums, and bins with the use of inventory control systems, associated documentation, personnel and time management to ensure efficient day-to-day shipping operations of the warehouse. Supports the resolution of customer complaints and requests in a timely manner. Ensures processes and procedures are followed to ensure accurate and productive work activities for warehousing functions. This leader will monitor and document personnel activities for performance and compliance with acceptable standards for safety, sanitation and productivity at our TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures truck and rail shipments are completed accurately, timely and all required paperwork sent to customers to maximize efficiency of operations.
  • Ensures that all loads, truck, rail, OTR, etc., have the proper dunnage and all loads are secure according to SOPs, policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that customer tags and other special tagging is properly done as required.
  • Consults Sales Demand Planner to plan picking, prepping and loading timely to ensure deliveries are made on time and on budget.
  • Calculates rail car requirements, orders and loads timely to ensure on-time delivery and avoid unnecessary demurrage expense.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, warehouse operations, or a closely related field; or any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the key responsibilities of this position.
  • 4 years' relevant work experience in the manufacturing or logistics industry, to include 2 years' experience in materials and inventory management control, and 1-year supervisory experience, preferably in a union environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel; ability to learn and operate various inventory, materials and operational software as applicable including technical equipment.
  • Ability to read, write and speak fluent English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check including employment and educational verification, credit screen, and to work extended schedule and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.
Compensation:

The salary range is $72,600 - $76,507, based on experience and qualifications.
