Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $44,200 - Midpoint: $55,300 (Salaried E6)

Department/Organization: 200631 - Orientation

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm

Job Summary: The Orientation and Special Events Coordinator plans, implements, manages, and administers comprehensive high school on campus recruitment events which include Sibling Orientation Program, University Days, and other special events that relate to high school groups. Supports coordination of Bama Bound, UA's new student orientation. Assists with the supervision of undergraduate and graduate students. Assists with managing budgets.

Additional Department Summary: Under the direction of the Associate Director, this position is responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and administering comprehensive high school on campus recruitment & transition events which include: Sibling Orientation Program, University Days, Admitted Tide Days, and other special events that relate to recruiting and helping students transition into UA. Supports coordination of Bama Bound, UA's new student orientation. Assists with the supervision of undergraduate and graduate student employees.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of orientation, special events, and/or enrollment management experience; OR master's degree and some orientation, special events, and/or enrollment management experience.

Skills and Knowledge: Basic desktop computing skills (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.); excellent oral and written communication skills; and interest in working with prospective students and their families; the ability to work with different cultures and groups of people; must possess proven leadership ability and a customer service oriented philosophy; must be able to multi-task effectively. High organization skills are required for planning purposes.
