POSITION SUMMARY:
The Blown Film Extruder Operator is responsible for starting and operating a thermoplastic extruder and associated production equipment to convert polyurethane resins into blown film for elastomeric plastic sheeting and tubing.

The Blown Film Extruder Operator is responsible for starting and operating a thermoplastic extruder and associated production equipment to convert polyurethane resins into blown film for elastomeric plastic sheeting and tubing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Determine Product Requirements: Based on customer specifications such as product, film type, color, width, gauge, and tolerances.
- Start and Set Up Equipment: Adjust extruder equipment, slitting stations, and winders according to product and customer requirements.
- Perform Inspections: Conduct visual and mechanical inspections of film and address non-conforming issues.
- Die Changeovers: Perform die changeovers and other general extrusion functions.
- Clean Equipment: Maintain cleanliness of dies and air rings.
- Record Set-Up Data: Accurately log extruder set-up data in the database.
- Operate Auxiliary Equipment: Safely operate related equipment such as slitters, winders, blenders, vacuum loading systems, forklifts, and roll carts.
- Verify Raw Materials: Ensure correct raw material, repro, and/or blended resin is selected.
- Ensure Quality: Confirm the quality of film and raw materials meets customer and company standards.
- Maintain Work Area: Keep work areas and equipment orderly and safe.
- Communicate: Cooperate with Supervisors and Coworkers.
- Safely Operate Machinery: Report any machinery or equipment issues to Supervisors.
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Experience in a manufacturing facility, specifically with blown-film extruder operation, slitting stations, winders, and equipment requiring die changes and cleaning.
- Skills: Knowledgeable in the use of digital micrometers, hand gauges, rulers, and tape measures.
- Language: Ability to read, write, and understand written and verbal instructions in English.
- Technical Skills: Basic mathematical equations and data entry skills.
- Team Skills: Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Legal Requirement: Must be able to legally work in the USA.
