JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Technician will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality in all logistics and warehouse operations. This will involve implementing Total Quality Management (TQM) principles and utilizing statistical methods to analyze data and identify areas for improvement. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve quality objectives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Compile and analyze statistical data, including KPIs, to identify strategies to implement improved internal processes.
  • Identify quality errors, by using metrics and data, to help navigate solutions.
  • Daily/Weekly 5S auditing to maintain housekeeping in the warehouse and organization office.
  • Perform all necessary warehouse product and Process Audits, communicate results, and elevate to leadership as appropriate.
  • Perform daily review of processes to ensure they operate within defined ranges.
  • Define and implement robust process controls/error-proofing solutions that ensure outbound products conform to specification and performance standards.
  • Accurately and efficiently complete all quality assurance paperwork/forms.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Communicate, document, and provide training on quality and process standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:
  • 2- or 4-year degree in Technology/Engineering or equivalent experience

  • 2-5 years of Quality/Manufacturing/Logistics experience, preferably in window and door industry.

  • Basic knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles

  • Basic knowledge of quality systems, SPC, and process capability.

  • Strong aptitude in process improvement and problem-solving.
  • Basic knowledge in process mapping, FMEA, and house of quality.

DESIRED SKILLS:
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) for data entry and editing of documentation.

  • Experience with aesthetic specifications and using visual standards.

  • Practice with 5 Why and other problem-solving techniques.

  • Knowledge of Window Quality specifications preferred.

  • Experience training others.

  • Intermediate math aptitude.

  • Experience using measurement equipment.

  • Ability to summarize data and present results.

  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Experience in TQM and Six Sigma preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience of WMS(Blue Yonder), SAP Business Object, and Power BI are highly preferred.

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
