Work varies, interpretive judgment within prescribed standards and procedures is required; adjusts work methods to meet task requirements. TYPICAL DUTIES: o Compiles necessary information for the application process through collaboration with other employees, database research, and other fact-finding actions and meetings. o Discusses available sources of funding with administrative managers. o Develops and implements policies, plans, and programs for grant management. o Monitors and coordinates the administration of post-award grants to ensure that administrative and budgeting policies, procedures and agency requirements are being followed. o Manages administrative problems and/or budget changes occurring during the awarded grant period. o Develops and establishes controls necessary to assure the accuracy and security of all grant records and funds. o Researches grant opportunities. o Performs outside grant reporting functions. o Tracks all grants the City of Salina has applied for and/or received. o Performs overtime as required and other duties as assigned. SUPERVISION - RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS: No supervisory responsibilities. MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to the following: o Bachelors degree in public or business administration, accounting, or related field with an emphasis on grant accounting. o Prior grant writing or administration experience desired. o Must possess a valid Kansas drivers license. RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: None. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: o Establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, officials and the public.
