What’s a typical day as a Swiss Machinist? You’ll be:
- Loading and unloading raw materials - You will be responsible for efficiently loading and unloading raw materials onto the CNC machines.
- Using measuring instruments - You will proficiently use gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements and ensure the accuracy of the machined parts.
- Reducing setup and machining time - You will continuously look for process improvements to reduce setup and machining time, increasing efficiency.
- Inspecting completed work - You will inspect completed work using tools such as calipers, height gauges, and micrometers to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Performing maintenance - You will clean and perform daily/preventative maintenance on company equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Assisting in organization - You will assist in organizing and maintaining the Machine Shop work environment to promote a clean and efficient workspace.
- Following safety procedures - You will abide by AS9100 requirements and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Providing feedback - You will provide feedback and input for process improvement, contributing to the continuous improvement of our operations.
- Training newer employees - With your clear understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures, you will assist in training newer employees and co-workers.
- Performing program edits - You will perform geometry, tool wear offsets, and program edits to ensure accurate machining.
- Tracking job progress - You will track and record job progress and deficiencies daily in both written and electronic formats.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Have 3-5 years of CNC Lathe experience - We are seeking candidates with a strong background in CNC Lathe operations.Programmer experience required
- Are proficient at reading and understanding mechanical drawings - You should have the ability to accurately interpret mechanical drawings.
- Possess a proficient understanding of measuring tools - You should be familiar with and able to accurately use measuring tools.
- Have knowledge of various CNC controls and M and G code - Proficient knowledge of various CNC controls and M and G code is required.
- Can operate lathes with minimal assistance - You should be able to turn on, set up, and operate lathes with minimal assistance.
- Are self-sufficient - We are looking for candidates who can work independently and be self-sufficient in their role.
- Have good mathematical skills - You should have the ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately.
- Have keen attention to detail and quality - Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work are essential.
- Are physically capable - The role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Are available for weekend shifts - There is an option for 3-day 12-hour weekend shifts.
