Job Description
The Assistant Director of Residence Life, under general direction, oversees business operations for assigned departments, offices, divisions, or agencies, which include negotiating contracts, addressing budget matters, recruitment/selection processes, student worker onboarding processes and support, and guiding work teams with the intent of increasing residential development, retention and satisfaction associated with Residence Life programs. Serves as Campus Security Authority (CSA) and is essential to university operations and expected to work during emergency situations.
Primary Work hours are Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM and ability to work evenings and weekends, as work responsibilities require. This position is located is Stephenville, Texas and may include travel to satellite campuses to support university initiatives. Must be able to work remotely at the request of the university.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Oversees operations related to assigned residential facilities. Coordinates maintenance, organization, and improvements to assigned residential facilities.

Maintains financial and budget records, coordinating with Accounting and Budget groups.

Provides supervision and oversight to assigned staff members and liaises with Human Resources to respond to employee queries.

Develops and oversees progress against high-level work plans, schedules, and budgets for large projects.

Plans, organizes, and oversees the recruitment/ selection processes of all student worker positions within the department

Document management of job descriptions for the student worker positions

Researches, organizes, aligns, and updates the Community Standards for the department for the success of our staff and students living on campus

Supports the planning, processes, and correspondence for summer conferences

Supports the move in processes with numerous projects, for example, parking/ traffic flow, student move in volunteers, supporting all areas on each move in day

Planning, organizing presentations, and presenting on behalf of the department and university

Assists with software trainings and process trainings of all levels of staff they are to supervise, RHDs, GAs, (RLs, OAs, and other student worker positions if needed) within the department

Represents Residence Life and the Division of Student Affairs at university functions when appropriate.

Reviews and negotiates contracts for assigned departments, offices, divisions, or agencies.

Assists in the development and implementation of goals for assigned departments.

Serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). Document and report to the university police any crime information that you believe is provided to you in good faith; participate in Clery Act Training for CSA’s; become familiar with the Campus Security Authority Reference Manual located on the University Police Department web site.

Minimum Qualifications
Education – Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience – Six years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Collaborative communication skills.

Salary Range
Commensurate with experience
The target base annual salary range is $49,000 to $68,330.50 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
