Job Title Advancement Data Specialist Agency Tarleton State University Department Advancement Services Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location Stephenville, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description The Advancement Data Specialist, under the direction of the Director of Advancement Services ensures the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of databases, data sets, reports and presentations to support the fundraising goals of Tarleton State University. Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8:00 AM-5:00 PM; occasional weekends and nights at the discretion of their supervisor. This is an on-site position located in Stephenville, Texas. Must be able to work remotely at the request of the University. Responsibilities: Data Integrity Responsible for running processes and managing projects to maintain data integrity including donor and alumni updates, utilizing database tools, obituaries, etc. Coordinates and processes data analysis and entry projects; operates and maintains a computer and database system. Enters donations into the computer, maintains database integrity and gift lists, and adheres to system operations. Adds new constituent records to the database as needed, analyzes information, and populates all appropriate data fields where information is available. Trains, supervises and manages student staff, when appropriate and necessary. Reporting and Analysis Collaborates with Director of Advancement Services to provide external reporting to donors including giving statements and endowment reports Exports donor and alumni listings for use within Institutional Advancement, for academic colleges, and other University departments Responds to requests for information and prepares ad-hoc reports and query analyses in desired formats. Analyzes and interprets data, both quantitative and qualitative analyses, using accepted statistical methods and qualitative research methods. Prepares, maintains, and presents historical and comparative data. Prepares and presents technical information as educational material for non-technically trained audiences at a variety of public forum. Membership Processing Adds new or update memberships in constituent records, adding appeal to gift and linking gift to membership record Maintains accuracy of membership programs and categories for annual giving societies within database Provides membership reports for various membership groups Gift Processing Assists with gift processing including daily deposits of all donations, gift analysis and entry procedures and processes daily gift batches, and analysis of gifts to determine appropriate campaigns, funds, appeals for each gift to be processed. Reviews and suggests changes to data entry procedures in order to minimize data reporting errors. Handles inquiries and questions directly. Performs other duties as assigned Required Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years of related experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, development, communication or public relations which includes experience with donor database systems and accounting processes Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of database and spreadsheet applications and basic web design. Strong written and communication skills along with having strong organizational, analytical and planning skills. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to maintain confidentiality Preferred Experience: Experience using Raiser's Edge database is preferred. Salary Commensurate with experience Salary Range The target base annual salary range is $44,800 to $58,664.50 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
