THE JOB:
The Events Manager oversees the project management of events including casino marketing, sponsorship activations and other events at the property level, as well as supports event directors in project management for cross-property and corporate events. The event manager is a crucial team member who has great flexibility and enthusiasm for a wide variety of projects and events within MGM resorts.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Assist in the planning and execution of casino events to include developing event concepts and themes, managing the creative process and ensuring consistent best practices are applied.
Collaborate with corporate and property staff to support the creation and execution of marquee events.
Serves as open minded, solution driven and creative project manager through planning, execution, and reconciliation stages of event planning. This includes the organizing of production meetings and schedules to coordinate and track progress on items like invitations, decor, audiovisual requirements, convention set-up, staffing, safety and gaming compliance, overall set-up, and strike.
Acts as a liaison and account manager for the management team, all staff, vendors, guests, departments, and divisions on all relevant matters and responds to inquiries, researches, and resolves problems related to event transactions.
Provides on-site management of event including ensuring the timing, execution, and challenge resolution that meet the high-level of standards of MGM Resorts International. This also includes the oversight of on-call event staff working to execute on a program, both inside and outside of MGM properties and providing high levels of customer service to all stakeholders.
Provide financial oversight and daily budget management of assigned events. Ability to project and track expenses for each project, as well as analyze outcomes.
Support strategic initiatives and seek innovative opportunities for new internal and external clients through the event productions CoE in support of MGM Resorts, Casino Marketing, and all other stakeholders.
Contribute to the research, development, evaluation, programming and implementation of new products, services, technology processes to ensure the company's competitive position in anticipation of changing customer needs.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent Casino industry experience.
2+ years of prior Events Planning and or Casino Marketing experience.
Experience working in a similar resort setting.
Experience with programming kiosk campaigns.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, casino systems and other relevant software.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms.
Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast paced, team-oriented customer facing environment.
Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints and within established deadlines, with particular attention to detail.
Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.
