Overview

The EPA National Student Services Contract has an immediate opening for a full time Analytical Chemistry Support position with the Office of Research and Development at the EPA facility in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The Office of Research and Development at the EPA supports high-quality research to improve the scientific basis for decisions on national environmental issues and help EPA achieve its environmental goals. Research is conducted in a broad range of environmental areas by scientists in EPA laboratories and at universities across the country.

What the EPA project is about

ORD will work with multiple small and disadvantaged drinking-water systems, along with the associated state primacy agencies and technology vendors to help identify an appropriate treatment technology to remove emerging contaminants of concern (CECs) including per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from their water, to manage any residual waste stream (solids, liquids, or gases) generated by that technology.

ORD is the premier provider of research and technical assistance on scientific matters dealing with protecting human health and the environment. The ORD Center for Environmental Solutions and Emergency Response (CESER) provides leadership and expertise in the areas of drinking water technical assistance for the nation.
