Position Summary This position will offer the opportunity to work on a variety of transportation projects spanning multiple clients and presenting unique challenges. Our Team is staffed with industry experts who are passionate about mentoring the next generation of designers and teaching vital skills for becoming an industry leading engineer. Given the wide range of projects and clients, our engineers are exposed to a number of different practices which allow them to not only become well rounded, but also to find a specialty they have interest in. This Team is expanding with additional expansion expected over the next few years. This allows for lots of potential for upward mobility once experience has been gained, and possible management opportunities in the near future! Responsibilities
Essential Functions Lead Construction Engineering & Inspection team(s) and/or help manage complex roadway and transportation projects that require creative solutions. Could include projects in roadway, bridge, pedestrian facilities, trails, and multi-modal transportation.
Lead field inspection for INDOT / LPA highway projects Review the work of CE&I team members - this includes QA/QC, mentoring, training and growing staff in the performance of job duties. Build project management / inspection budgets for projects. Lead technical team(s) as needed for a variety of projects. Mentor less experienced staff. Conduct project meetings with INDOT and LPA clients. Coordinates project staff as required and assigned for the project(s) to achieve successful results for the client. Work closely with the Sales Team on preparing proposals. Meet and develop client relationships with INDOT / LPA clients. Manage scope and schedule of proposals to develop budgets. Qualifications
Qualifications: BS in Civil Engineering or related field. 10+ years of experience. PE License / Project Management degree or ability to obtain within a year of employment. Experience working on INDOT projects. INDOT Pre-certifications in multiple work categories Experience managing construction projects independently Familiar with INDOT Standards and specifications Experience working on transportation CE&I projects.
