Biotechnology Research & Development A leading Biotechnology Research Company is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its senior leadership team. Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will drive the companys financial strategy, performance, and growth, overseeing all financial operations, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and ROI analysis. As a key partner to the CEO and executives, the CFO will also align financial strategies with R&D goals, ensuring operational efficiency and long-term financial sustainability. This role also involves managing financial risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and playing a pivotal role in fundraising, M&A activities, and capital allocation. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership in navigating the complexities of the biotech industry. Key Responsibilities: Develop and present strategic financial plans, annual budgets, and long-term forecasts to senior leadership, providing ongoing monitoring and performance insights. Partner with the CEO and senior leadership team to define and achieve business and financial objectives, ensuring alignment with the company's scientific research and development priorities. Analyse market trends, research investment opportunities, and assess potential financial risks to develop actionable solutions and drive growth. Collaborate with R&D, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and other departments to enhance financial forecasting accuracy and optimise resource allocation. Lead financial due diligence and contribute to M&A strategy alongside senior leadership and corporate development teams. Oversee treasury, capital management, and fundraising efforts, ensuring the companys financial health and liquidity are well-managed. Implement and manage cost reduction initiatives, driving operational efficiencies without compromising the companys innovative capabilities. Provide regular reporting on key performance metrics, ensuring transparency, accountability, and compliance with regulatory standards. Advise on pricing strategies and customer programmes to ensure market competitiveness and optimal financial returns. Guide and mentor the finance team, fostering talent development and succession planning within the finance function. Ensure all financial operations align with relevant industry regulations and best practices, particularly within the highly regulated biotech sector. Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA, CBA, or other advanced qualifications preferred). 15+ years of finance experience, including substantial experience in biotechnology, life sciences, or highly regulated industries. 7+ years of senior leadership experience, with a proven track record of managing financial teams, particularly in a complex, fast-paced R&D-driven environment. Extensive experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), business & financial modelling (B&F), mergers & acquisitions (M&A), and capital raising. Expertise in managing financial strategy in the biotechnology or life sciences sector, including familiarity with public company operations, compliance, and governance. Strong leadership skills with a track record of transformational leadership and change management success. Ability to make strategic decisions and communicate financial insights effectively to non-financial stakeholders, including scientists and engineers. Willingness to travel and engage with internal and external stakeholders as necessary. Compensation: The annual salary for this permanent role is between

$250,000 - $300,000 , with additional performance-based bonuses and an executive benefit package.
