We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team! You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial records for our retail entities. In this role, you will perform various accounting, bookkeeping, and clerical functions related to the preparation, maintenance, and processing of accounting records and financial transactions. You will work closely with our Retail Operations staff, Retail Management staff, vendors, and financial institutions to maintain accurate financial records and support day-to-day operations. Ability to: Prepare and reconcile various accounting statements. Maintain and update ledgers and journals. Comprehend and apply principles, procedures, policies, and regulations related to fiscal record-keeping and accounting tasks. Research and gather technical and financial data. Analyze information, identify and resolve discrepancies. Maintain a quality- and service-oriented attitude. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; interact tactfully and effectively with diverse groups; and build and maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues and stakeholders encountered during work Responsibilities: Prepare monthly financial statements for all assigned entities:

including budget vs. actual income statement, balance sheet, income statement, bank and investment reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable reports, general ledger reports and other schedules as requested. Journal Entry / Verification:

Update QuickBooks with all accounting transactions. Make entries as needed and verify and categorize imported journal entries from multiple sources. Analysis:

Independently analyze data and processes, form well-founded conclusions, and propose and execute resolutions. Collaborate with store managers, operations staff, and software providers as needed. Financial Reconciliation:

Reconcile bank balances for multiple accounts daily, complete credit card reconciliations, and ensure accuracy of financial transactions. Financial Documentation:

Maintain accurate financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements. Billing and Invoicing:

Enter daily, weekly, and upcoming bills into QuickBooks, maintain the filing system, and access vendor websites for invoices and payment schedules. Forecasting:

Prepare and forecast monthly financials, analyzing trends and assessing key financial indicators to support budgeting and strategic planning. Tobacco Rebate Exports:

Submit Tobacco Rebate Exports to relevant organizations, ensuring timely and accurate submission. Email Management:

Check, respond to, and follow up on emails related to accounting and administrative matters. Data Reporting:

Provide requested data to internal and external parties for insurance audits and other reporting needs. Monthly Reporting:

Create and distribute month-end financial reports, completing all necessary checklist items and reconciliation processes. Provide support to the annual audit process

by preparing workpapers for assigned entities and facilitating timely completion of audit reports. Create new processes to improve financial efficiency Report analysis and findings to management team Education/ Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in business, accounting or a related field; or four years accounting experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years experience in financial reporting preferred. . 1-3 years of accounting experience Knowledge and proficiency in Finance/Accounting Principles (GAAP). Previous experience working in a multi-entity environment is required. Recent working knowledge of Quickbooks, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, customer service mindset required. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
