Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantSpecialty manufacturer near Missoula is looking for a full time Staff Accountant to add to their growing team. This innovative and growing company prides itself on using American-made materials for their American-made products. Staff Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting functions by ensuring the accuracy of financial records and assist in month-end close process. Prior experience in manufacturing is ideal along with a strong understanding of cost accounting, excellent analytical skills, and ERP (NetSuite) experience. Essential Functions and Duties:-GL: Maintain general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and perform account reconciliations-AP: Assist with processing vendor payments and resolving discrepancies-Cost Analysis: Collaborate with operations to track and analyze production costs, including labor and materials. Reconcile PO's and invoices-Monthly / Quarterly Close: Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities-Compliance and Reporting: Assist with reconciliation of sales tax filings, fixed asset tracking, and adherence to internal controls-Variance Analysis: Analyze and report on budget-to-actual variances, including cost deviations and operational performance. Review variance analysis between moths and provide comments-Audit Support: Prepare scheduled and provide necessary documentation for external audits-Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reportingQualifications:-3 to 5 years of accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Related field.-Experience processing payroll-Proficiency in ERP systems-Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principlesWhy you want this position:-Starting salary of $65K to $75K-Work for a quickly growing, stable company-Generous PTO-Medical, dental, vision insurance with portion paid by the company-Optional HSA-Totally transparent company with full accessibility to leadership. -Flexible work life balance and willingness to work around life's unexpected events
