Our client is a leading manufacturer of electronic components and systems. They are committed to providing high-quality products and exceptional customer service. They are seeking a talented and motivated Staff Accountant to join the team.
Job Responsibilities
Financial Accounting:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Ensure accurate and timely recording of journal entries.
Reconcile bank accounts and other general ledger accounts.
Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
Process payroll for 50 plus employees
Cost Accounting:
Analyze and track product costs, including direct materials, direct labor, and overhead.
Prepare variance analysis reports to identify cost deviations and recommend corrective actions.
Assist with inventory valuation and cycle counts.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare various financial reports and analyses for management.
Provide insights into financial performance and identify trends.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant regulations.
Assist with tax preparation and filing.
Work with auditors to complete annual audits.
Other Duties as Assigned:
Participate in special projects as needed.
Assist with system implementations and process improvements.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 5 plus years of relevant accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics). Knowledge of payroll systems, Paychex preferred. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
