The Senior Staff Accountant position is a hybrid role and is located at our 33 Whitehall St office.
Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze the financial statements of all of our domestic and foreign locations and compare the actual results against the planAssist with the budget preparation and monthly budget variance analysesSupervise staff accountants providing guidance, training, and mentorship as well as reviewing their workMaintain accurate and timely during month end and year end closeProvide adhoc reporting as necessary for Senior Management for strategic planning and decision makingMaintain the general ledger structure including the Firm's Chart of Accounts, entity structure and all general ledger interfaces including all subsidiary ledgersWork with the Accounting Manager and the external auditors to ensure timely completion of auditsScheduling required jobs to ensure that all necessary information is entered into the accounting systemCoordinate with local offices that proper general ledger accounts are used and that entries are recorded timelyPrepare journal entries and reconcile numerous general ledger accounts on a monthly basisMaintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules and ensure the correct calculation of the depreciationIdentify and rectify the erroneous postings to general ledger accountsDevelop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures: This includes ensuring that the company adheres to the modified cash method of accountingManitain internal controls, including risk assessments and review of internal control policies to safeguard the company's assets and prevent fraudAssist with special projects and other related financial analysisDevelop and implement appropriate accounting procedures and identify and present process improvementsProtect confidentiality of accounting informationOther responsibilities as they are assigned from time to timeQualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is requiredMust have a minimum of 5 years general accounting experience including the analysis of financial statementsStrong understanding of theoretical accounting principles required.(GAAP)Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast paced environmentExcellent organizational and analytical skillsAbility to work independently as well as part of a team and the ability to take direction Strong verbal and written communication skillsMust exhibit the ability to take initiative and a proven record of identifying and recommending process improvement changesProficiency in MS Office - strong Excel skills Must have prior knowledge of a fixed asset systemMust exhibit the ability to assume varied responsibilities of increasing difficulties Must be a quick learner
The anticipated base salary range offered for this role will be between $115,000 to $135,000
