Description
TheStaff Accountantensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, entering, reviewing, and reconciling transactions, which impact GMHC’s general ledger and financials. Work closely with the Accounting Team to ensure accurate monthly closes and an adjustment free year-end audit.
Essential Job Functions
The following duties are mandatory requirements of the job:
Prepare account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting and general ledger maintenance.
Reconcile various balance sheet accounts.
Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
Review monthly financial results, analyze variances to budget and prior year, and investigate causes of key variances.
Prepare journal entries for prepaid expenses and other items as assigned.
Prepare ad-hoc spreadsheets and reports as required.
Manage and reconcile incentives spreadsheet.
Manage fixed assets, depreciation and prepaid schedules.
Manage treasury functions: preparation of daily ACH/wire transfers, handle positive pay and maintain the daily cash activity log of all bank accounts.
Process and transmit payroll to Paylocity.
Administering the Time and Attendance System ensuring employees have completed time sheet.
Validate employee’s payroll information entered the payroll system, make corrections and adjustments as needed.
Other Responsibilities
The following duties are to be performed as assigned by the supervisor:
Assist with special projects and perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Provide back-up support for other fiscal operations.
Requirements
Education and Certification
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
Special Skills and Knowledge
In addition to the above-listed job responsibilities and educational requirements, the ideal candidate for this position possesses most or all the following:
In-depth knowledge of GAAP and not-for-profit accounting.
Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
Accuracy and attention to detail and strong work ethic.
Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to prioritize & multi-task.
Good written and verbal communication.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently, while also participating collaboratively as part of a team and accepting responsibilities from supervisors.
Experience with SAGE Intacct is a plus.
Experience with Paylocity is a plus.
Salary Description
$55,000 - $65,000 per year
