Sr. Staff Accountant Full Time Requisition ID: 1420 General Overview: We are currently recruiting a Senior Accountant who ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, reconciling, and entering transactions. Along with assisting in the periodic financial reports and enforcing all accounting and company policies. This position reports to the Sound Seal Accounting Manager and is based out of Sound Seal in Agawam, MA. Responsibilities: Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, cost of goods sold and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information for multiple locations. Maintains and balances accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies. Maintains general ledger by transferring inter-company accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries. Assists with physical inventory counts, cost accounting and variance analysis. Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss and other statements. Provides financial information to support audits, tax preparation, and other corporate requests. Assists with customer credit evaluation and manages accounts receivable, including cash application and communicating with customers and sales managers on past due accounts. Reviews the credit card travel and expense program, including keeping the bank program up to date with changes. Produces the weekly check run and makes sure all vendors are paid correctly. Protects organization\'s value by keeping information confidential. Assisting with projects and other duties as required by management. Educational/Experience Requirements: Bachelor\'s degree in accounting/finance preferred. Minimum 5-8 years in accounting in a manufacturing environment and experience with Cost Accounting. Solid knowledge of GAAP. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS-Office Suite and advanced user of Excel a must. Experience with SAGE 100 or other manufacturing ERPs a plus. Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and strong analytical skills are required to be successful. Experience with Bloomberg and FloQast a plus. Must be detailed orientated, organized, able to plan effectively, prioritize, and multi-task. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be team oriented.
