The Staff Accountant is responsible for day to day accounting, grants, and operations surrounding the EHS Inc affiliates. The Staff Accountant assists the Controller and other finance department personnel with various projects and other aspects of accounting and finance related to the affiliates.
As part of the essential functions of this role, the Staff Accountant:
Codes and enters invoice data into the A/P module of the accounting system for all vendors and affiliates.
Determines or assists the purchaser in determining cost of vendors for invoice Lofts and affiliates.
Determines or assists the purchaser in determining expense account(s) for vendors and affiliates.
Prints vendor payment checks and submits them to the Controller and VP/CFO for review as needed.
Responsible for the delivery and/or mailing of signed checks to appropriate staff and vendors.
Monitors, maintains, and reconciles the AR Module for the Lofts and other affiliates as needed.
Supports and implements process improvements and other major projects.
Participates as needed in the preparation of outside fiscal audits and assist auditors as needed.
Performs fraud prevention procedures as required.
Ensures adherence to establish internal control procedures.
Qualified candidate will have an Associate's Degree in Business, Accounting or related field, Bachelor's Degree preferred, with one (1) year of experience in grant administration and vouchering or in a non-profit setting. Candidate must have familiarity with computer, accounting software (Sage 100), and MS software (Outlook, Word, Excel) preferred. Candidate must be able to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing. Sensitivity toward cultural diversity, people living with HIV/AIDS and lifestyle addiction issues essential.
