Position requires an active Top Secret Clearance/SCI clearance with ability to obtain additional security requirements. Please do not apply if you do not possess the required Top Secret Clearance.

Key Responsibilities:
Process background investigation requests for assigned individuals and candidates to determine their suitability for access.
Ensure security requirements associated with the government are met. Coordinates and works with internal and external organizations for solutions for new and developing security programs.
Monitor security applications through review and analysis and prepare summary reports.
Employ risk management practices in supporting security goals and objectives
Conduct in-depth analysis of all investigative data obtained according to established federal adjudicative guidelines, prepare summaries for senior-level review, and make recommendations for final consideration of access.
Enter data into various databases; research, review, track, gather, analyze, and compile data into a report.
Prepare, gather, and review clearance forms for applicants, employees, and contractors.
Prepare letters and requests to federal agencies for investigative information.
Prepare requests to federal and district courts for criminal record information.
Conduct research, which may include contacting other government agencies and private companies by telephone.
Conduct subject interviews and prepare reports.
Review FBI criminal records, issue Letters of Inquiry to resolve issues of concern, formulate a summary of the findings, and make recommendations for the appropriate suitability/security recommendation.
Participate in testing new computer software and testing developmental investigative tracking systems.
Assist with updating personnel security procedures as requested.
Qualifications:
Experience initiating and conducting non-criminal personnel security background investigations.
Experience researching, retrieving, reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing background investigation material.
Knowledge of OPM Suitability/Security standards and security regulations and policies affecting the employment of individuals in the federal government.
Must be able to communicate with professionals on all levels.
Flexibility, the ability to multi-task, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The position requires an active TS/SCI and willingness to be screened for additional access.
Location:
Washington, DC.
Clearance Required:
Position requires an active Top Secret Clearance with ability to obtain SCI/Poly. Position requires SSBI/T5 investigation within the past 52 months.
Working Environment & Conditions:
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
