Assistant Project Manager (APM)

- Asset Management . The APM is an office liaison for the Client, responsible for managing projects from concept through construction administration. Also responsible for assisting the Project Manager (PM) in supporting the client - maintain secondary POC, providing feedback to the PM in order to quickly solve problems, providing quality engineering documents that meet the client's desires and budget. In short, the APM assists the PM in making them a "Client for Life". Reports to the PM. Responsibilities

Assist in the conducting fieldwork and at times take the lead in this effort.

Attend meetings with the client and issue minutes when the Project Manager cannot attend or accompany the PM to meetings. Assist the PM in the preparation of deliverables and detailed project plans. Assist the PM in the coordination of all the disciplines involved, including outside consultants. Assist the PM in the supervision and coordination of the submission of documents to appropriate reviewing authorities, including review responses. Under the direction of the PM, arrange for in-house quality review primarily to ensure that all of the clients' needs and requests have been accommodated. Assist the PM to ensure and coordinate among all of the disciplines involved, including outside consultants. Arrange/attend conferences when the Project Manager cannot attend or accompany the PM. If required, issue the minutes, addenda, under the direction/supervision of the PM. Organize, attend, and document meetings and information obtained from site/client visits. Take and distribute good meeting minutes, photos, field reports. Interface with all disciplines as needed for submittal reviews, questions & decisions, and requests for information. Organize and maintain project files. Prepare progress and final reports.

Required Skills & Required Experience

Accomplished (5+ years of experience) Construction Professional (Engineer, Architect, or Contractor); knowledgeable of construction process, familiar with AIA and state construction contracts; self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Well organized and has experience working with various Authorities Having Jurisdiction, DHSR, SCO, etc. Good conceptual understanding of plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and structural systems with general knowledge of system operation, space requirements, cost.
