Job Description:

The Program Manager directs all phases of programs from inception through completion.

Drives program execution in order to achieve key business and financial objectives for new, continuing, or current programs.

Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.

The Program Manager drives the planning, initiation, and management of corporate programs, as well as leading and guiding the work of technical staff.

The individual serves as liaison between the business and technical aspects of projects, plans project stages and assesses the business implications for each stage.

This vital role also manages and drives program and proposal progress to assure scope, schedule deadlines, budgets and process standards are achieved.

The Program Manager, Specialist Level is a seasoned and experienced professional with proficient program management and job area knowledge with practical knowledge of project management, managing projects and processes under general supervision to achieve operational targets with moderate impact on departmental results.

Essential Functions:

Manage with minimal supervision all levels of ForceX assigned program team personnel

Manage relationships with all levels of the customer’s organization

Manage program financial forecasts and schedules

Engage in direct customer interaction when scoping new product capabilities

Knowledge of full product life cycle; customer needs, design, development, testing, deployment, support

On a limited basis independently perform program/project management responsibilities

Collaborate and communicate with customers via face-to-face, telephone, email, and other media to maintain strong customer relationships and set proper customer expectations

Communicate the customer’s goals and represent the customer’s interests to the team

Effectively interact with other departments to gather, monitor and analyze performance data

Be responsible for all customer communications, conflict resolution, and compliance on customer deliverables and revenue

Provide project status reports, address issues and problems as appropriate

Verify that processes and procedures are completed, and quality standards are met

Pursue opportunities for product growth and new business

Actively look for new employees

Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor's (BS or BA) degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) (preferably Systems Engineering, Networking, Software, IT, or Computer) or equivalent of education and related experience

4 years minimum experience performing as a Program Manager (PM), Assistant PM (APM), Deputy PM (DPM), Project Manager (PjM), and/or Project Engineer (PE) in a Federal Program.

Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience as noted above.

In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience as noted.

Experience leading DoD acquisition programs.

Experience with Risk and Change Management.

Experience leading cross-functional teams.

Have previously held a Program Manager role.

Active Secret Clearance

Ability to travel 25%

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience as a PM/APM/DPM/PjM/PE managing FFP, CPFF, CR and T&M task orders in the Federal Government or in a Technology Department

Program/Project Management experience including the ability to elicit, write, review, manage, and verify requirements

Prior experience working on heavily technical programs with the ability to communicate and understand technical information

Experience working in an agile software environment is strongly preferred

Experience in directing customer interaction when scoping new product capabilities
