$75k to $99K base
Essential Job Functions:
Develops and execute purchasing strategies to support the Companys business objectives.
Negotiates with vendors for the best possible price and service guarantee.
Researches and develop products for the Company to increase sales and revenue.
Monitors and forecasts upcoming demand and develops new supply source if necessary.
Reviews inventory and investigates discrepancies.
Manages and develops food safety programs for hazard analysis, sanitation, recall, etc.
Oversees quality control and ensures compliance with government food safety standards and regulations.
Coordinates with purchasing employees in other locations to negotiate discounts for bulk purchases and optimizes efficiency.
Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
Oversees the daily workflow of the department and provides constructive and timely feedback, training, and coaching.
Attends Company events and functions outside of normal working hours.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit in an office setting for the majority of the day
Ability to type for extended periods throughout the day
Ability to reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
Ability to use the phone for extended periods of time
Working Conditions
o Noise Level: Normal to loud while in the office
Other Requirements:
Business level English Read/write/speak/listen
Business level Japanese highly preferred
To have and maintain a clean driving record
Maintain a positive attitude
Ability to adapt to frequent changes in assignments and workload
High School Diploma required. Bachelors Degree in related field preferred
5+ years of relevant experience required.
Knowledge and Skills:
Intermediate mathematical knowledge markups, discounts, combining/converting measurements, counting inventory, etc.
Mentoring, coaching and people management skills
Communication and interpersonal skills
Problem-solving skills
Basic Microsoft Office proficiency
Knowledge of Japanese foods and sakes highly preferred
