Overview

As a Vendor Quality Analyst/Quality Assurance Associate reporting to the Quality Manager, your primary responsibility is to ensure that raw materials and finished products meet the established quality standards and requirements. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality control processes throughout the production cycle. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Pay range:

$55,000 - $70,000/yr.

Responsibilities

Vendor Relations : Collaborate with purchasing and engineering to determine specifications and communicate through written and verbal means with Vendors to ensure part specs are met. This will include scheduling and conducting vendor visits and maintaining a strong business relationship with new and established vendors. Evaluate the quality management systems of suppliers and assess their capability to meet quality standards. Provide feedback to vendors and work closely with them to address any quality issues or concerns and documented corrective actions.

Quality Reporting : Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing inspection findings, vendor evaluations, and quality performance metrics. Present findings to the Quality Manager and other relevant stakeholders, offering insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Quality Control Processes : Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and protocols. Monitor and audit production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements. Identify areas for improvement and work proactively to enhance quality control measures.

Root Cause Analysis : Investigate quality incidents, defects, and deviations to determine root causes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions. Utilize problem-solving techniques such as fishbone diagrams, 5 Whys, and Pareto analysis to address underlying issues and prevent recurrence.

Training and Education : Provide training and guidance to production personnel on quality control procedures, inspection techniques, and quality standards. Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

First Article Inspections

: Conduct thorough inspections of the initial parts and production samples to verify compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements. Communicate and coordinate reviews with Internal Engineering and Purchasing departments. Clearly document and report any discrepancies or non-conformities identified during the inspection process.

Documentation and Record-Keeping : Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspection results, vendor communications, quality audits, and corrective actions taken. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality management system documentation standards.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field or equivalent work experience.

Proven experience in quality assurance, quality control, or related roles.

Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC, Six Sigma).

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and quality management software.

Certification in quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor) is a plus.
