HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

The Revenue Accountant is responsible for the calculation of key rebates, revenue accruals, and the quality and accuracy of various reconciliations that support audit review. The position ensures that certain revenue recognition matters are timely addressed and that various arrangements tangential to the Company’s revenue recognition are appropriately accounted for. This position will lead to certain development and training activities as needed. The manager maintains collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the finance organization and the business. This person performs associated work duties and plans work assignments as required.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Calculates and accrues customer rebates, affiliate rebate cost-sharing, intercompany commissions, and royalties. Monitors invoicing, payment, and documentation of these items.

Monitors the adherence of the rebates, intercompany commissions, and royalties to the underlying contractual obligations. Reviews the contractual obligations to evaluate if they are structured in accordance with GAAP.

Monthly creates journal entries to accrue revenue, deferred revenue, and expenses for specific product lines.

Monthly and quarterly researchs, tracks, and documents JSOX and GAAP compliance for revenue related items such as ASC 606, Sales Orders, Pricing, Costing Category, Systems Contracts, etc. Creates the quarterly Accounting Memo to document rebate liability compliance with GAAP.

Interacts with and follows up with Cost Accounting and Operations to ensure necessary changes are made in Oracle to reflect proper Product Line accounting and correct pricing per JSOX reports.

Assists with reviewing and providing guidance on ways of improving various account reconciliations prepared to ensure such reconciliations meet the standards of scrutiny of a national accounting firm level audit.

As needed, performs research for complex accounting areas to ensure appropriate conclusions are reached in compliance with current GAAP.

Builds and enhances cross-functional and collaborative relationships with colleagues across the Company and its various affiliates ensuring these relationships lead to support for the company overall, departmental goals, and individual goals and commitments.

Provides back-up support to other members of the department as needed.

Assists the Controller with special research projects as requested.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in accounting or finance.

Certified Public Accountant Certificate preferred.

5+ years of experience in an accounting environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Computer proficiency and advanced knowledge of Excel.

Strong and current working knowledge of GAAP.

Significant experience in utilizing a General Ledger.

Experience working with national accounting firm level auditors and proven ability to efficiently address their various audit requests.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
