YOU
As a Senior Revenue Accountant, you will assist in all aspects of revenue accounting, reporting and analysis processes. The ideal candidate has strong interpretation skills as it relates to US GAAP and ASC 606. The Senior Revenue Accountant will report directly to the North America Regional Controller and will work with upper management on occasion.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)
Primarily responsible for the accounting and analysis of North America revenue related activity (including software revenue recognition treatment), customer and builder rebate programs and similar reductions of revenues (e.g allowances, bad debt, returns and discounts) ensuring accuracy, consistency in treatment and authenticity of such for; (30%)
Quarter end close and reporting,
Annual budget and periodic forecasting,
Internal and external audit support, and
Validation that amounts paid by the Company are appropriate.
Execute and maintain a thorough revenue recognition process in compliance with GAAP. (20%)
Continuously evaluate and enhance revenue accounting processes to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and reduce risks. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to, rebates, allowances and other deductions. (20%)
Validate the company treatment of software licensing revenues and software bundled with products in accordance with ASC606. Work with the tax group to ensure the correct taxes are charged/collected. (10%)
Serve as a key resource for any revenue-related financial inquiries. Work closely with leadership team to provide guidance on revenue-related matters and ensure cross-functional alignment. (10%)
Develop a deep understanding of customer agreements, rebates and other revenue related programs, and their impacts on revenue recognition and operations. Review specific financial terms on contracts to ensure proper accounting treatment. (10%)
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance and experience in public accounting required.
5 years combined audit/control advisory experience with Big 4 accounting firm, large national accounting firm, or large public companies.
Reporting: Knowledge of internal/external reporting issues and strong understanding of GAAP, SOX 404 and ASC 606
SEC Reporting: SEC Reporting knowledge is preferred
ERP Systems: Proficiency in general ledger ERP Systems (SAP a plus)
Speaking: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees in the organization.
Writing: Ability to write in a clear, concise, organized and convincing manner for the intended audience.
Problem Solving: Ability to identify the information needed to solve a problem effectively
Attention to Detail: Ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task
Self-Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities. Ability to be self directed to solve business issues.
MS Office: Knowledge and proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, Business Objects and Atlas with experience in creating specialized ad hoc reports.

This position requires domestic and international travel up to 5% of the time.

This full-time, exempt position is located in Pleasanton, CA or Dallas Fort Worth, TX.
RELOCATION
Relocation is not available for this position.
Pay
$71500 - $137300 / year
* Posted pay range is based upon national average and may vary depending on geographical work location
